Module 1 Working at Heights Basic Theory Module (4.0 Hours)

  • Rights and Responsibilities
  • Identification of the Hazards of Working at Heights
  • Eliminating or Controlling the Hazards of Working at Heights
  • Warning Methods and Physical Barriers
  • Ladders and Similar Equipment
  • Personal Fall Protection Equipment

Module 2 Working at Heights Practical Equipment Module (4.0 Hours)

  • Barriers and Safety Nets
  • Personal Fall Protection Equipment
  • Anchor Points
  • Work Positioning Systems
  • Work Access Equipment
  • Platforms Rescue Planning

All necessary training equipment is provided by Mentor Safety.

Program Objectives: The purpose of Working at Heights training is to establish a threshold criteria of high quality, consistent training for Ontario workers who work at heights. This strengthens workplace safety culture, improves worker knowledge and helps reduce the number of fall-related incidents, injuries, and fatalities.

Who would benefit: Anyone who works at a height of 3 meters or higher must be trained by a CPO Approved Working at Heights provider.

Regulations and Guidelines: This is a Chief Prevention Officer Approved course. Upon completion, learners will be compliant with the Occupations Health and Safety Act in Ontario with regard to working at heights.

Required: Photo I.D must be present at the beginning of class. Proper footwear is required, no open-toe shoes or high heeled shoes allowed. If you do not meet these requirements, Mentor can refuse you access to the classroom and you will not receive a refund.
