SUMMARY:Virtual JHSC Refresher (November 10\, 2022)
DESCRIPTION:Program Length – 8 hours – 8:30 am – 4:30 PM\nCourse Fees – $240.00 + HST \nVirtual Learning: This is a situation in which the instructor and learners are separated by location. By the use of webcams\, the instructor will lead the training in real-time and will move through the learning outcomes together with the learners virtually. \nTechnology Requirements: The class will be hosted using Zoom and participants will need to use a webcam for certain parts of the training such as I.D verification and engagement monitoring. \nParticipants will need:\n-A quality internet connection\n-A computer (laptop\, desktop or tablet)\n-A webcam with a microphone \nJoint Health and Safety Refresher Training is valid for three (3) years from the date of successful completion of the original Chief Prevention Officer (CPO) approved program. All learners who wish to maintain the validity of their JHSC training past this three year period need to successfully complete refresher training. \nThe refresher training also will update learners on any legislative\, regulatory or equipment (technological) changes\, which may impact a JHSC’s across all industries. \nJoint Health and Safety Refresher Committee Modules \n\nCertification\nInternal Responsibility System (IRS)\nLaws and Regulations\nPolicy and Programs\nThe Committee\nR.A.C.E\nHealth and Safety Hazards\nHazard Management Tools\nStaying Current\nChallenges and Successes\n\n**PREREQUISITES REQUIRED: \nLearners must have successfully completed the Part 1 & 2 CPO approved  Joint Health and Safety Committee program \nCPO Learners # is required. \nNo refunds will be provided for registrants that do not meet prerequisites. \nIn the event that a learner has lost their CPO-issued proof of completion card\, the learners can request a replacement card by calling the Ministry of Labour at 1-877-202-0008 \nShipping Details: We will ship each participant a package with the required materials for the program. DESCRIPTION:Since April 1\, 2015\, a mandatory Chief Prevention Officer approved Working at Heights Training Program has been required by workers in the construction sector. \nThe Chief Prevention Officer of the Ministry of Labour has approved Mentor Safety’s Niagara Working at Heights Training Program. \nProgram Length – 8 hours – 8:30 am – 4:30 PM\nCourse Fees – $150.00 + HST \nModule 1: Working at Heights Basic Theory Module \n\nRights and Responsibilities\nIdentification of the Hazards of Working at Heights\nEliminating or Controlling the Hazards of Working at Heights\nWarning Methods and Physical Barriers\nLadders and Similar Equipment\nPersonal Fall Protection Equipment\n\nModule 2: Working at Heights Practical Equipment Module \n\nBarriers and Safety Nets\nPersonal Fall Protection Equipment\nAnchor Points\nWork Positioning Systems\nWork Access Equipment and Platforms\nRescue Planning\n\nEvaluation and Proof of Completion\nAll participants are required to pass a written test with a minimum mark of 75% and a practical test with a mark of 100%. Proof of completion will be provided. \nRequired: Photo I.D must be present at the beginning of class. Proper footwear is required\, no open-toe shoes or high heeled shoes allowed.
